These drawings are pulled from my ongoing practice of generating new characters through loose, exploratory sketching.
Often beginning with quick, abstract lines, many of these studies evolve into alien beings, robots, or creatures that suggest possibilities for comic book stories. The finished works featured in my Character Designs collection all began as sketches like those below.
